Our prestigious client is market leader in the design and manufacture of seating for off road, agricultural and construction vehicles.
An opportunity has arisen at their Ebbw Vale unit, in the R&D team, for a mechanical design engineer with project experience.
Being educated to HND level and proficient in Pro Engineer, the ideal candidate will be from a mechanical design background with experience in sheet metal, plastics, rubber application and Design for Manufacture.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
1. Compilation and preparation of Technical designs associated with the companies products, namely seating and suspensions systems for sale into the off road vehicular market.
2. Compile and the issuance of Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) in line with the companies published QMS procedures.
3. PAP co-ordination, in line with the customer's requirements and/or companies APQP process. (NPI, PFMEA, DFMEA).
4. Coordination of specific NPI activities as assigned by the Technical Manager of which will include the chairing of meetings, recording and issuance of meeting notes and compilation of time lines in support of new business acquisitions.
5. Key responsibilities will include the professional liaison with customers and suppliers in support of Technical issues related to the companies current products and the evolvement of new product designs and it's development.
6. The Project/Design Engineer will also provide a timely response to interdepartmental and inter company requests as assigned.
