The role will involve:
•Upgrading engineering drawings of 1950s marine engine.
•Modernising the drawings and putting them on the CAD system. All drawings to be done in unigraphics (NX-4).
•Working on mechanical components such as pump bodies, etc.

Mechanical Design Engineer - £28 p/h, 3 Month Contract

With major upgrade work to do for a prestigious client; this bespoke manufacturer of engine components is looking for a mechanical design engineer on a contract basis. Working in their marine division, this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your design skills in a new industry.

The role will involve:
•Upgrading engineering drawings of 1950s marine engine.
•Modernising the drawings and putting them on the CAD system. All drawings to be done in unigraphics (NX-4).
•Working on mechanical components such as pump bodies, etc.

The successful applicant will:
•Be proficient in 3D CAD (Unigraphics, Pro-engineer, Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor).
•Be from a strong mechanical engineering background (automotive, aerospace, marine, special purpose machinery, process).
•Have good problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.

The company:
•Provide top end engineering solutions for the design and manufacture of engines and other rotating machinery. This involves new product development and engine upgrade work.
