We are supporting a global, diverse technology leader and the World's largest and most successful engine company. Our client leads the field in the design and manufacture of high-performance engines. Their continuous development programme, dedicated to furthering engine design allows them to offer one of the most advanced and comprehensive ranges of purpose-built diesel engines available today. Staying ahead in a rapidly changing world is vital and to achieve this they need ambitious, talented individuals who have the potential to create, challenge, and deliver global objectives.

The Rotating Components team is one of four component centred multi-functional groups dedicated to delivery of quality, on-time, cost effective designs. The responsibility for the components runs from initial concept, right through production, to eventual deletion. Team members include Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics and Manufacturing all with the common goal of quality excellence.

Components and Systems:
Rotating Electrics including alternators, starter motors & battery optimization
Powertrain including crankshaft, con-rod, dampers, bearings, balancer & flywheels
FEAD (Front End Auxiliary Drive) including belts, autotensioners, pulleys, fans & fan drive assembly
Timing Case & Gears including engine timing gears, gear driven auxiliaries (hydraulic pumps & compressors), timing cases & covers

The Role:

Work primarily within the Rotating Electrics Team but with significant opportunity to gain experience of the other components listed above

Will involve research, specification, design and development

You will have a strong technical background combined with a keen desire to improve your understanding & knowledge of engine systems in general and rotating components in particular

Although heavily design-based, with Pro-E skills a great benefit, there is significant opportunity to develop the role further within the Rotating Components team

Requirements:

Engineering Degree or relevant experience and demonstrated competency

Good understanding of component design, mechanics and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, moulding)

Experience of Pro-E, FMEA, APQP and 8D problem solving would be a benefit although training will be provided if required

Experience of project management

Experience leading activity with suppliers

Awareness of engine and component test would also be beneficial

In addition to the above, you will be an excellent team player, enthusiastic and have strong values

The ability to work under pressure with different functional areas, internal and external customers and suppliers is a pre-requisite

Our client offers an excellent salary, bonus scheme, pension, share options, regular salary reviews and a car allowance (depending on grading) and a full relocation package.
