My client has been established in the UK for over 20 years specialising in the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery. They are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work as a key member of their product design team in assisting them on taking original design concepts through to manufacture and beyond.
The Mechanical Design Engineer my client is seeking will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline. You will preferably have 5 years experience working within a design engineering position designing special purpose machinery on a 3D CAD package, preferably SolidWorks. An enthusiastic and determined attitude is what my client is looking for as training is available so you will need to be looking to learn and take on new skills and experience.
The Mechanical Design Engineer position itself involves working alongside experienced and talented engineers on new product design but also elements of product improvement and design modifications. Significant use of SolidWorks is involved in this position to design bespoke and special purpose machinery which involves aluminium extrusion design and sheet metal fabrication design.
Candidates in the following position may be considered Mechanical Design Engineer, Graduate Design Engineer, Project Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer and Principle Design Engineer.
