Due to expansion, our client who carries out design, installation and commissioning of electrical services installations nationwide, are recruiting an Electrical Designer.

Main responsibilities:

To assist Contracts Manager & Engineer with the day to day operations of contracts and ultimately to manage secured contracts, ensuring they are carried out professionally, within the contract period and within budgeted costs.
Negotiating all additional works.
To site survey prior to tenders being processed as necessary.
After hand-over from estimating department, assess the contract as a whole ensuring best and most practical methods of installation working within the installation Codes of Practice and British Standards and within the budgeted costs.
Following discussions with engineer discuss procurement of materials with supplier
ensuring requirement dates are met.
To act as site contact for material requisitions in conjunction with engineer.
Source labour requirements with Contracts Manager
Ensure contract is never overlaboured but sufficient to meet the contract programme.
Carry out necessary surveys to prepare risk assessment for the contract. Implement and maintain systems for managing project health, safety and welfare.
Monitor and control contract costs against agreed budgets with contracts engineer. Maintain contract compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
Control contract progress against agreed programmes.
Quote additional works as requested by contracts engineer for incorporation in final account.
Prepare in conjunction with Engineer monthly valuations incorporating all additional works.
Prepare in conjunction with Contracts Engineer O & M's as requested.
To be constantly aware of new methods, techniques and materials, ensuring company are up to date with innovations and maintaining a competitive edge in the Marketplace.
