MATERIALS CONTROLLER - LOUGHTON - SALARY UPTO £20,000
Established for 40 years with an enviable reputation, our client are recruiting a Materials Controller. You will work with the Purchasing Manager to procure materials used within the manufacturing process. Duties Include:
Working alongside the Purchasing Manager you will be involved with a range of duties including:
Selection of suppliers and negotiating supply agreements. This will entail monitoring price, delivery, technical ability and service for a determined set of parts.
Regular liaison with Production, Planning and Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Liaise with Technical Departments for the approval of new materials.
Report to the Purchasing Manager any deviations from the agreed budgets and delivery schedules.
Plan the introduction of material design changes through to implementation.
Represent the department and company in a professional manner.
Skills
Previous experience within an industrial procurement or materials control environment.
Experience of MRP and/or computerised stock control system along with good IT skills.
Good communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
