Master Planner for this leading defence organisation based in Kent to take personal responsibility for engineering/project work and tasks.
Typically maths and science related qualifications with significant experience in industry. Good grounding in modern project/business management techniques. Able to identify and manage areas of risk. Limited supervision required. Reports to group/team manager. This position is subject to MOD Security Clearance and all applicants must be able to meet the strict criteria.
The Master Planner will be educated to at least BTEC (including HND/HNC) in Projects/Engineering with proven experience within a project management/planning environment. The successful candidate must be an experienced project planner able to establish and utilising precedence scheduling. Knowledge and applications of Artemis, Cobra and Winsight software is desirable. You will need knowledge of project management techniques including schedule risk analysis. You will be proficient in MS Project, MS Office and the ability to transfer and analyse data.
Key responsibility areas:
Working with the Project Manager & Cost Account Managers, establish and maintain Integrated Master MS Project schedules for various engineering development projects from the proposal stage through completion. Run schedule health check and execution metrics and drive corrective actions. Ensure that the project plans & schedules accurately reflect the statement of work / work breakdown structure, and to reflect planning best practice and engineering development processes.
Reviews and evaluates current scheduling methodology on a continual basis. Performs 3 point schedule risk analysis and suggests work-around recovery plans for schedule delays. Ensures that all program changes are controlled and reflected in project schedule and report on status of critical path and other key performance measurements within defined project reporting cycles.
