Market Sector Manager Water Management
A leading specialist in the provision of planning, design and management services for infrastructure development is seeking to recruit a number of key personnel to work of some of their high profiled projects.
The river engineering and water management teams in Ireland are rapidly growing which has led to new opportunities within the Dublin team. We are looking for a talented individual to develop the flood risk management and rapidly growing surface water management parts of our business. The successful candidate will take a lead role in growing this part of the business for a range of clients and services and expanding the team in the Ireland. The position will require good knowledge and experience of flood risk policy/drivers, hydraulic modelling and hydrology.
The principal function of this position is to develop the water management and planning business in Ireland. Working with existing clients and frameworks, and seeking out new opportunities in the areas of strategic flood risk management, flood risk assessment and environmental water management
Responsibilities include developing the strategic flood risk management, flood risk assessment, and environmental water management business, with support from senior staff. You will meet clients and prospective clients, prepare proposals and bids for new work. You will develope a team of hydraulic modellers, hydrologists and water management specialists and be responsible for the overall management of projects
The ideal candidate should possess a masters degree in engineering or relevant scientific field (i.e. hydraulic modelling, hydrology, environmental modelling) or other relevant flood risk management area. You should be a chartered membership of IEI, CIWEM or ICE. You should have skills in project management, flood estimation and/or hydraulic modelling, GIS skills desirable but not essential, a strong knowledge of flood risk policy/drivers and related guidance (IRE and/or UK).
The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker, problem solver and will have a proven record of working within the flood risk sector
