Market Analyst - required by this leading international avionics/defence organisation. The Market Analyst is a key member of the Market Development Team, and is expected to contribute fully to all aspects of the team's work.

The role will be based in Kent and is commutable from Maidstone, Dartford, Sevenoaks & Sittingbourne.

The Market Development cell is an integral part of the Strategy & Business Development Directorate . Market Development has a number of specific objectives: To identify & assess key market & competitive issues which may have a significant impact upon the Platform Solutions strategy, its ability to improve competitiveness, and its achievement of future business goals. This will include the identification, analysis, proposal & recommendation of options and alternative routes into the future. To provide the Platform Solutions with a global market & competitor overview to enhance overall understanding of the market & competitive environment, thus facilitating regional and country strategy formulation, and enabling consistent market & competitor baselines to be set across the line of business for planning purposes. To provide high quality, professional, consistent and proactive market & competitor analysis and assessment for the Platform Solutions Strategy & Business Development Directorate, and the Platform Solutions business units. This is in support of both the development of Platform Solutions strategy, merger & acquisition activity, business development, integrated business planning, and other activities requiring market & competitor analysis input, and will be provided through four primary activities:
Strategic Assessment; Market Analysis & Assessment; Competitor Analysis & Assessment; Information/Intelligence Capture & Interpretation.

You must have:
A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the aerospace, defense and/or avionics industry. Some experience in an analytical role in market analysis and/or strategic planning function would be useful but is not essential. Minimum degree level qualification. Expertise in marketing, market analysis, business administration would be an advantage. Highly developed analytical skills. Ability to understand and solve complex problems. Ability to identify, formulate and implement analytical processes when applicable. Ability to communicate analytical results and their importance/impact on the strategic direction business area. High level of data mining and retrieval skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High degree of self-motivation and self-management skills. High degree of proficiency in MS Office and other analytical software applications.

Additional information
The post requires the individual to be able to analyse and assess Defense data, in many cases having to first identify sources and access the necessary information & intelligence. He/she will also be required to present the results at all levels throughout the Operating Group, and the global company from time to time as appropriate.

You will need a highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work closely with people at all levels within the organization, both to extract information and to present the outcome of analysis. Presentation of results will occasionally be at the highest levels within Platform Solutions, the E&IS Operating Group and the company as a whole. Presentation material and analytical outputs are required to be clear and concise so that the messages and conclusions can be rapidly digested in order to enable timely business decision making at all levels within the Platform Solutions and the Defense Avionics organization.
Since timescales and priorities are business driven, often against tight deadlines, the incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to achieve the required results. This will include the need from time to time to work outside normal office hours and occasionally at weekends.
The nature of the work exposes the individual to extremely sensitive issues and therefore a very high degree of integrity is required.
