Excellent opportunity for an experienced Marine Mechanical Design Engineer to work on challenging projects within a progressive modern yacht building company.
Job Information:
Reporting to the Yacht Design Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall development, design and integration of all mechanical engineering for new products and continuous improvements to our existing product lines. The role will require interaction with clients, production divisions, and knowledge of classification system requirements. The right person will be expected to be involved as a technical advisor during construction and sea trials.
The position requires someone with practical experience in all aspects of design, including concept and design schemes; structural analysis and calculations; design in 3D and production of workshop drawings.
The Candidate:
It is essential that the candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline, with a strong Mechanical Design background and ideally experienced in the pleasure yacht building or commercial marine industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Ideally the designer must be experienced in the following areas: propulsion engines, gearing shafting, engineering pipe work systems, domestic pipe work systems, hydraulic systems. HVAC, corrosion issues, shaft vibration analysis, noise prediction and measurement and analysis.
Education:
BEng and/or MSc is desired.
