We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer.
Qualifications/Experience:
HNC/HND with a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, or a higher qualification in Production/Mechanical Engineering.
Team player with a flexible approach
Must be prepared to take on new skills and challenges
Some knowledge of manufacture and assembly of rotating machines and associated control equipment we be desirable
Must have the ability to communicate at all levels
Must have good IT skills including the use of spreadsheets and databases
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Plant layout, relocation and commissioning
Specification, purchase, installation and commissioning of new and refurbished specialist machinery
Progressing existing and initiating new "Design for Manufacture", Continuous Improvement" and Lean Manufacturing projects to reduce cycle times and increase efficiency.
Creation of process plans for efficient methods of manufacture.
Health and Safety implementation.
The candidate must be self-motivated, good communicator, capable of working alone and in a team environment. Previous experience or a genuine interest in, component manufacture or assembly, in a heavy manufacturing environment would be an added advantage. Preference will be given to those who can best illustrate their desire to pursue a "hands on" role in the challenging world of manufacturing engineering. May involve some travel both in the UK and overseas.
