A world leading turbine airfoil producer is looking for a manufacturing manager who is confident, pro active and experienced in the manufacturing of high technology aerospace parts from casting, running sizable teams and budgets.
To manage all aspects of manufacturing for the following areas:
Pre-finishing
Grain Etch/Inspection
Core Removal
Knowledge
Modern manufacturing tools such as lean manufacturing, IPM, TQM, Toyota Production Systems, SMED, QSI and kaizen to maximum effect.
Base knowledge in business financial accounting and key manufacturing measures such as productivity and lead-time
Experience
Ideally familiar with all aspects of the lost wax investment casting process.
Experience in an Engineering discipline with an understanding of processing equipment is an advantage.
Main Activities:
Ensure operations achieve and sustain required health, safety and environmental goals.
Accelerate the implementation of ABS through out the areas of responsibility including establishing fixed flow paths and achievement of a daily beat by product family.
Create and execute effective waste (cost) reduction plans.
Ensure plans and resources are in place to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production, quality and shipping targets.
Ensure correct measures, systems and controls are in place for various operational objectives including absenteeism, 5S, overtime, lead times, beat adherence and costs.
Maintain and manage employee morale and attitude through appropriate HR policies, procedures and techniques.
Provide cover for other post-cast managers in the event of them being absent.
Requirements:This role would suit an energetic, motivated professional who is capable of multi-tasking, handling day to day personnel issues and who can also see the longer term objectives/goals for the business.
Excellent organisational, communication and people skills, drive and resourcefulness are all necessary attributes for this position.
