Description
ROLE:Manufacturing Engineer NPI
SALARY:c£26k + bonus + pension
LOCATION:West Sussex
Working for a global manufacturer in a large cross functional team, you will be tasked with delivering a new platform of pumps with stretched cost, performance and delivery targets.
Day to day activities include evaluation of new manufacturing processes and suppliers, specification and design of assembly equipment and tooling, implementation of equipment and plant, specification of internal supply mechanisms, maintenance and ownership of some project documentation, specification of local quality plans and maintenance of MRP system.
In order to carry out these activities effectively, candidates will need to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of mechanical assemblies, manufacturing theory and be sensitive to the operational requirements of a high value, high variant Manufacturing Cell. Specifically, an understanding of DFMA, MRP and kanban, tooling design, PFMEA, MAPICS, SOPs and Lean Manufacturing would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will also need to be innovative, able to create and manage local plans and be able to communicate effectively with Project and Operations staff alike.
These attributes will be supported by an Engineering Degree (Manufacturing/Mechanical) and a minumum 1 years experience in a manufacturing environment, either as Operational Support or NPI/Project work.
