Manufacturing Engineer required in South Wales (near Newport) to work for a large UK defence organisation on the FRES Programme.
Manufacturing Engineer required in South Wales (near Newport) to work for a large UK defence organisation on the FRES Programme. This role will involve assessing suitability of suppliers, driving LEAN initiatives and implementing Kaisen for manufacturing's Continuous Improvement. You will need to read and understand tender and technical documents and ensure the design team create products that are manufacturable. To be considered for this excellent opportunity you should have a proven background of exploiting LEAN principles (Six sigma green or black belt) as well as a knowledge and understanding of Kanban, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement. You should have experience of working in the design/manufacture of AFV, military vehicles or heavy automotive vehicles. You will need to be prepared to travel to other locations across the UK and overseas. Successful applicants will be required to obtain UK MOD security clearance prior to appointment.
