MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
POWER ELECTRONICS

First class career opportunities now exist for Manufacturing Engineers to join this successful and well-established company which designs and manufactures Power and Magnetic product solutions for the Defence and Transit markets world-wide.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing the business with production engineering expertise, facilitating cost reduction programmes and optimizing the use of manufacturing resources both internal and external to the business. In addition, the post holder will promote Design for Manufacture (DFM) within the project teams, taking responsibility for the new product introduction process.

Your responsibilities will include providing the business with production engineering expertise, meeting cost reduction expectations and maximising the use of appropriate resources. You will promote Design for Manufacture within project teams, taking responsibility for the new product introduction process. You will also support manufacturing operations during contract execution by providing an interface to the engineering organisation. Furthermore you will develop and maintain manufacturing techniques and standards in support of current projects and future technology developments. You will also develop appropriate external manufacturing partners in support of their ongoing business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have held a similar position in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Educated to HND or degree level, you will have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and IT literate). You will also be a motivated self-starter, capable of achieving cost reduction targets and completing small projects within agreed constraints.

You would be joining the operating division of a world-leading aerospace and defence electronics company providing specialist products across the globe.
