MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
To participate in new product development teams and develop the required manufacturing processes. To continuously develop the manufacturing processes in line with Lean Manufacturing principals.
Work with development project teams and provide input to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and products. Define processes and methods of operation and ensure their implementation and consistent use. Identify and eliminate waste and reduce throughput times. Work with shop floor teams on Continuous Improvement initiatives. Identify and justify investment in capital equipment to improve performance, eliminate waste and reduce cost. Analyse existing working practices and define opportunities for improvement. Identify and provide the tooling and fixtures required for efficient manufacture. Provide first line support for Manufacturing problems, identifying the causes and implementing the appropriate corrective and preventative action. Prepare Standard Operating Procedures, routings and standard times.
HND / HNC / Degree level qualification or above would be an advantage
Experience Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related preferably in an engineering based company. Engineer who is fully conversant with the principals of Lean and has a track record in their implementation.
