Manufacturing Engineer
The overall purpose of the job is to identify improvement opportunities, and implement lean tool & techniques in the manufacturing area.
The successful applicant must be qualified to HNC or equivalent mechanical/manufacturing engineer, ideally with 3 years experience in a electro-mechanical environment, applicant must have a good knowledge of world class manufacturing techniques, volume production & project management.
Applicant will be logical and analytical thinker, who is comfortable with hands on approach, and must be able to work on there own initiative.
Main tasks and activities include
1 Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
2. Analyses and plans space requirements, and workflow, and designs layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
3. Confers with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
4. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
5. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
6. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
