Manufacturing Engineer
£30K
Havant
Accountabilities:
Responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the manufacturing processes. Internal and sub-contracted/outsourced
Main Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and maintenance of documentation necessary for manufacturing Bills of Materials, Routings, Method Sheets etc
2. Liaison with other Engineering departments/Finance to assist in the creation of cost estimates for new builds and NPI (New Production Introduction)
3. Selection and management of subcontractors and the manufacturing sub-contract process including performance and improvement monitoring to ensure that the required quality, cost and due date performance is achieved
4. Provide technical expertise and support to the Manufacturing Cells, Factories and Work Centres
5. Liaison with Engineering departments to implement best practice with regard to DFM (Design for Manufacture) and inventory rationalisation
6. Support a CIP (Continuous Improvement Plan) within manufacturing by developing and implementing new leaner processes/methods, cost -down initiatives and improving the current operations.
7. Assist in the design, planning, purchase and commissioning of production lines and machining centres
8. Maintain safe working practises for self and others in accordance with the Companys policy on Health and Safety.
9. Co-ordinate and manage manufacturing process/product projects
10. Root cause analysis of operational/technical issues and associated problem resolution
11. To ensure UK H&S regulation and responsibility requirements are included in all relevant manufacturing documentation and processes
12. To optimise the output potential of manufacturing units and suppliers through a programme of continuous improvement based on the introduction of best practice.
