Description
Our client, a Major Supplier of Components to the Aerospace Industry are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to be based in Nottingham.
Main tasks:
- Planning Method of Manufacture of precision engineered components this includes planning of machining, processing and some assembly.
- CNC Programming
- Design of fixtures
- Identify measuring equipment required to ensure products conform to customer requirements
- Raise manufacturing Stage Drawings utilising AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
- Raise concessions.
- Lead problem improvement projects using established 8-step process.
Ideal Candidate
- Time served apprentice
- Precision engineering background in machining and processing.
- Qualifications: C & G, ONC, HNC, Degree or any combination of these.
- Planning experience, minimum of three years.
- CNC Programming experience, minimum of 3 years.
- Experience of 6 axis machining centres.
- Experience within the Aerospace industry.
- Technical Knowledge 3D Modelling, Vericut, EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- The candidate will be familiar with lean manufacturing and the principles of lean manufacturing including the common tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methods including processes for problem solving including Root Cause Analysis and the 5 Whys?
Personal Characteristics
- Open to new and continuously changing manufacturing and management requirements.
- A willingness to operate in a flexible way is essential. This may lead to the engineer working to resolve quality related problem or acting as a quality engineer for short periods of time if required.
- The candidates must be a team players, able to integrate and communicate with shop-floor and Engineering personnel.
