Manufacturing Engineer
Yow will be making continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve best practice through e.g. cost reduction, kaizen, cellular manufacturing techniques etc.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Product Development
2. Work within NPD multi-functional teams on designated products to:
3. Ensure the shortest and most effective development time-scale
4. carry out APQP documentation (e.g. PFMEA/DFMEA, Risk Assessment, PPAP etc.)
5. Specify manufacturing processes/layout for assembly
6. Specify/ design jigs, fixtures and test equipment for product manufacture and assembly.
7. (Experience of ProE would be beneficial but not essential)
provide all necessary documentation to the project and manufacturing teams, e.g. work instructions.
Continuous Improvement
Work as line engineers within the manufacturing team to:
1. Review products to identify cost reduction, improved manufacturing systems, quality improvement opportunities etc.
2. implement projects to agreed time scales
3. liaise directly with suppliers over specification/ quality issues
4. monitor manufacturing operations in order to maintain high yield targets.
