Manufacturing Engineer - A vacancy has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer (NPI) in the Burgess Hill area (limited travel in UK) working in a large cross functional team tasked with delivering a new platform of pumps, with stretched cost, performance and delivery targets.
Requirements :An Engineering Degree (Manufacturing/Mechanical) with experience of a manufacturing environment, as Operational Support or NPI/Project work.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of mechanical assemblies, manufacturing theory and be sensitive to the operational requirements of a high value, high variant Manufacturing Cell.
Specifically, an understanding of DFMA, MRP and Kanban, tooling design, PFMEA, MAPICS, SOPs and Lean Manufacturing would be a distinct advantage.
We require the successful candidate to be innovative, able to create and manage local plans, possess excellent and effective communication skills in order to work and liaise with Project and Operations staff alike.
Day to day activities include evaluation of new manufacturing processes and suppliers, specification and design of assembly equipment and tooling, implementation of equipment and plant, specification of internal supply mechanisms, maintenance and ownership of some project documentation, specification of local quality plans and maintenance of MRP system.
