Our client has commercialized proprietary materials technology across a worldwide market. The business is fully funded and is now looking for a Manufacturing Director / Director of Manufacturing with high personal credibility and a demonstrable track record to manage growth and realise potential.
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the prime measure of success will be your ability to formulate and execute the strategic production plan in line with commercial activity. You will have full operational accountability and responsibility, and your focus will be to increase business performance through creating sustainable manufacturing operations and timely integrated manufacturing processes.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, as the Manufacturing Director / Director of Manufacturing you will:
- devise and manage the implementation of the Company's manufacturing strategy
- source key components, negotiate key supply agreements and manage the materials procurement function
- design and deliver new factory setups and manage manufacturing on a worldwide scale
- manage new product introduction plans and deliver the transfer from R&D to manufacture
- deliver cost reduction programmes and quality improvements
- contribute to R&D and future business growth
To succeed in this position you must be able to demonstrate previous high level management experience in a hi volume hi tech manufacturing company. You must also be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or allied field.
Along with your strong leadership and communication skills, as the Manufacturing Director / Director of Manufacturing you must also have the following:
- ability to manage, plan and deliver in a rapidly growing and changing technology environment
- experience in new product introduction, prototyping and change management in an ISO9001 quality environment
- commitment to quality, a right first time' approach and continuous improvement processes
- ability to manage multiple remote manufacturing facilities around the world
