Manufacturing Controls Engineer

We are supporting a global, diverse technology leader and the World's largest and most successful engine company. Our client leads the field in the design and manufacture of high-performance engines. Their continuous development programme, dedicated to furthering engine design allows them to offer one of the most advanced and comprehensive ranges of purpose-built diesel engines available today. Staying ahead in a rapidly changing world is vital and to achieve this they need ambitious, talented individuals who have the potential to create, challenge, and deliver global objectives.

The Technical Resources Department is responsible for providing the facilities and processes to meet the production and engine specification for current and new products, and for supporting facility developments in emerging markets. The department is responsible for significant capital investment which will typically be approx £10M pa, which will continue with the net generation of emissions compliant products. The Assembly, Test and Finish department has a staff of 24 fully qualified engineers and focuses on both strategic and tactical project.

The Role:

To work within a team of manufacturing engineers and will be responsible for providing Controls Engineering expertise, on NPI projects, Major Capital investment and Continuous Improvement projects in Assembly, Test & Finish.

The controls engineer will also be responsible for providing expert guidance to the controls technicians and the maintenance staff.

Requirements:

Degree qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, although applicants with HNC and preferably 5 years experience will be considered
