Our Client was established in 1990 to provide a full range of PVC-UE roof & window finishing systems for the building and construction sectors. Today, with sales in excess of £30 million, the Company has achieved market leadership through a customer focused approach and a clear commitment to being and offering the very best. During the last 5 years the Business has invested more than £10 million in new manufacturing technology and equipment, as well as the level of ongoing product development & research required to maintain market dominance. As a result it can now offer one of the widest product ranges in the world within its market, and currently produces over two million metres of finished product every month.
This position, created to play a key role within this wider World Class ambition, will work on a wide range of manufacturing improvement projects across the Company's manufacturing operations. These will vary in nature... from machine improvements of an electrical / control nature to mechanical and process projects, depending on evolving business priorities. The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will specify, co-ordinate and lead these projects, control suppliers and sub-contractors, develop detailed process improvement plans, assess risks and benefits of plant modifications and project manage new machinery installations... as well as acting as a coach and facilitator for shopfloor personnel within a Continuous Improvement framework.
Candidates should be Graduate Calibre (HNC+) Process Development Engineers with a track record of leading successful improvement projects in a best practice, highly automated, volume production environment, together with:
Excellent project leadership and communication skills
A Continuous Improvement Champion with modern Lean Manufacturing skills (eg. TPM / 6 Sigma etc)
A good understanding of Machine Control technology, Wiring Regulations and Operator Safety technology
Able to influence effectively at all levels, and to lead cross functional teams
