My client is a world renowned Automotive component manufacturer with an impressive range of products. They are now seeking a Maintenance Technician to work on a wide range of equipment. The candidate will undertake repairs on all types of machinery resolving mechanical and electrical problems as well as the occasional hydraulics problem.

As a result of recent positive restructuring, they are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and proactive multidiscipline engineer to provide a mechanical and electrical service to a level of that requiring special knowledge and skills to the factory for the repair, maintenance and installation of plant equipment and machines, as well as maintaining the factory environment in its entirety whilst recognising safety standards and cost requirements and undertaking several other maintenance duties as required.

Working on a range of equipment, the successful candidate will undertake repairs of all machines (i.e. special purpose machines, millers, grinders, lathes, dust extraction units, water pumps and lubrication systems), resolving all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems in accordance with recognised safety practices and procedures, machining and fitting spare parts often to very close tolerances. Examples of faults can include Mechanical (gear box failures, spindle wear noise problems, Pressure failure, valve leakage) and Electrical (identifying problems using test equipment, fault diagnostics systems on advanced technology plant and equipment) on a diverse range of plant equipment, in addition to undertaking PPM and reactive maintenance whenever the need arises.
