Description
Immediate opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician has arisen for the daily Responsibility to ensure the full maintenance of both CNC and manual machines within the workshop. The individual will also be responsible for the compilation and implementation of a planned maintenance scheme for both mechanical and electrical equipment, working with sub-contract manpower required to undertake specific tasks identified.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Team Leaders, you will carryout day to day maintenance of all workshop CNC and manual machines
Undertake repair work on a priority basis during breakdown situations. This may increase working out of normal working hours at short notice
Compilation of a maintenance strategy to improve machine availability
Establish a base-line history of current equipment, identifying machine conditions / required improvements
Co-ordinate all major machine repairs with minimal disruption to production
Ensure all activities comply with the requirements of ISO9001.
Take an active roll in process improvements to further enhance the current machining operations
Co-ordinate all sub-contract activities in relating to machine maintenance / improvements
Take an active role in improving safety within the workshop
Job Specification:
The successful candidate will:
•Actively promote a safety culture within the Production team
•Undertake repair of machine tools within the workshop, both mechanical and electrical equipment
•Establish a maintenance schedule to improve current machine conditions
•Carryout breakdown repair work in an efficient and effective manor to limit loss of production
•Undertake assessments of machine conditions to establish future work scopes
•To carryout routine maintenance of all workshop machines to reduce risk of breakdown
•Identify timescale opportunities for major repair work to equipment, minimising loss of productivity
•Co-ordinate all sub-contract activities relating to machine maintenance / improvements work
•Actively participate in the design / re-engineering of process equipment
•Ensure activities in the section comply with ISO9001 and in-house procedures and systems.
•Promote a culture of continuous Quality improvement
•Provide management and technical reports as requested by the Team Leaders or Section Head in an accurate and timely manner
•Work closely with the Team Leaders and Lead Hands to identify areas for process improvements
•Lead and develop staff to ensure the challenges of the technologies, standards and performance can be proactively achieved
Person Specification
The successful applicant should have:
•HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
•Experience in CNC machine maintenance
•Experience in manual machine maintenance
•Computer literate
•Completed a recognised apprenticeship
•Have experience of both CNC machines and manual operated machines
•Extensive knowledge and ability in heavy engineering workshop
•Understanding of ISO9000
