Maintenance Team Leader
Derby
£33,000 regular days
We are currently recruiting for a high-class manufacturer of reputable branded goods, based in Derby. They are a key player within the FMCG and pharmaceutical sector with a strong focus towards lean manufacturing and continuous improvements.
Primarily the Maintenance Team Leader will serve as the first line manager for the area maintenance team, to deliver and improve maintenance systems ensuring departmental KPIs are achieved. Essentially this role is required to provide management and leadership for the maintenance/improvement engineers on a day to day basis. The Maintenance Team Leader will participate fully in area improvement plans relating to quality, cost and safety. They will also be responsible for controlling all repair and maintenance budgets for the area. Furthermore they will be responsible for identifying and delivering improvements to the overall area maintenance strategy.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
•Responsible for delivering line OEE through proactive engineering maintenance
•Maintain gross margin by controlling R&M spend
•Continuously improve and deliver maintenance strategy
•Constantly appraise and address training and development needs of team
•Lead engineering training of production teams
•Responsibility for teams compliance with company and statutory health and safety requirements
Key Challenges
•Prioritisation of resources to deliver world class performance
•Balance needs of engineering function against production demands
•Deliver strategy to move maintenance from reactive to a predictive system.
Qualifications / Experience
•Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
•Team leadership experience essential
•IT literate
