This positions is within a major automotive manufacturer in Stonehouse. Working as a service engineer on a 3-shift rotating pattern, applicants will come from an engineering background, and will have experience on machine shop equipment - ie CNC etc

The Role
-To carry out breakdown repair coverage for all machine tool manufacturing plant, working a shift pattern.
- To carry out planned preventive maintenance in line with pre-determined. schedules and to assist with training operators and craftsmen (where necessary).
- To undertake more complex and detailed project work when machine rebuilds or refurbishments are required.
- Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimise downtime and improving machine availability and reliability.
- Documenting activities and spares requirements used onto work request system.
- To actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer our persistent problems.
- To train Operators and Craftsmen in performing First Line and Planned Maintenance Activities as and when required.
- You are expected to communicate and liaise with other departments and fellow maintenance engineers to ensure continuity of information between shifts.
- To attend Production, Quality, Engineering and associated meetings representing the maintenance department as and when necessary.
- You will liaise with machine tool suppliers / representatives in the machine sign off process and agree a recommended material control spares listings.
- Role will include some travel to material control tool companies within the UK and abroad from time to time.
- A minimum of 5 years experience of working in a machine tool production environment.
- Ideally, to have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
Fortnightly 3 shift pattern.
