Description

Multi-skilled Service Engineer required.

My Client, a UK leading supplier of insulated and specialist glass for commercial, street furniture and architectural applications are looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the main responsibilities include:

- Planning and installation of new machinery as part of the ongoing investment programme.
- Relocation and re-commissioning of existing machinery as part of the site reorganisation programme.
- Carrying out planned maintenance on all plant machinery and premises.
- Fault-finding, problem analysis and repair of plant and equipment, to minimise downtime.

Skills Required:

- Qualified Maintenance Engineer.
- Electrical and mechanical skills, including basic PLC knowledge.
- Experience in manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Glass Processing Industry would be a distinct advantage.

The ideal candidate should be:

- Self-motivated with the ability to manage and plan their own time and resources.
- A rotating, two-shift pattern is in operation. So a flexible approach to working hours is required to provide cover when colleagues are on holiday or absent from work.
- Prepared to work weekends and holiday periods, as required.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written to provide information/records of machinery condition, work carried out etc.
- Take ownership of the plant maintenance to ensure all machinery works efficiently and effectively, to ensure that machinery up time is maximised.

The role will encompass:

- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Stores inventory and parts procurement.
- Routine servicing and emergency breakdown repair.

The successful candidate will need to be experienced with:

- Drive and control systems.
- Electro mechanical systems including basic PLC systems.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
- Building maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be self motivated, energetic and reliable with a "can do" attitude to any given task.
