Our client is a CNC machine tool specialist supplying the latest CNC turning technology to UK industry. Reputable for employing only the best staff in the industry, they are now looking to recruit a Machine Tools Applications Engineering and Service Manager to join their team.
This is an exciting time to join the company as they are currently introducing a new service management computer system and the department is entering a period of change. As the Machine Tools Applications Engineering and Service Manager you will need the skills to drive through this change, whilst ensuring customer needs and requirements are achieved, and exceeded.
In this role you will be the lynchpin holding the Sales team and Service Engineers together, ensuring the Sales teams sell the correct machine to meet customer requirements, and overseeing the Service Engineers work to deliver these requirements.
As a Machine Tools Applications Engineering and Service Manager your responsibilities will include:
- providing the Sales team with effective applications engineering support to enable the conversion of sales opportunities
- ensuring installations are efficiently completed
- providing effective training to customers
- ensuring the Engineering department is capable of meeting forecasted future needs
To succeed in this role you must have the following:
- team management experience
- an engineering education and background
- experience in an engineering technical support role
- understanding of computerised machine tools
