Our North UK based client who has an ongoing need of Experienced & Less Experienced J2ME Developers. The candidate must be Eligible to Live and work in UK and is flexible in travelling in & outside the country.
Our Client in Glasgow needs Software Engineers for there Mobile Applications development team.
The main language in use is J2ME. The person required should have following skills and experiences:
Education / Qualifications
Bachelors degree or above in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
• J2ME development
• Analysis and design of projects
• Team interaction
• Working to set deadlines
• Participate in code inspections and reviews
Technical Competencies:
Candidates must have at least 2 years working with J2ME midlets and / or embedded Java (Personal Java) development experience. Expertise is essential with:
• Strong OO design experience.
• 2D/3D rendering experience.
• Proficient with MIDP 2.0 / Nokia Series 60 / Symbian UIQ development, and proven track record of delivering the application on mobile devices.
• Familiarity with Network protocols such as; WAP, OTA, HTTP, TCP, SOCKETS
• Experience with MMAPI (Mobile Media API), Mobile 3D graphics (JSR 184), OpenGL ES Binding (JSR 206 - Recommended), Mascot Capsule API knowledge (Highly Advantageous), JTWI, WMA (Wireless Messaging API). (JSR 226 SVG)
• XML
• Hands-on experience with Design Patterns and UML.
• Excellent knowledge of low level graphics
• Strong skills for UI design and development Screen shots and demos of work should be provided.
• Gaming industry experience a strong plus.
Experience in working and communicating with people from other cultures is a must as this role may require travel in & outside the country. Successful candidates will be comfortable in design and development software such as:
• Eclipse
• Ant
• CVS
• Development experience in a structured environment
