Description
Logistics Planning Engineer
Our client seeks an enthusiastic and experience Logistics Planning Engineer to join their Europe / Africa / Middle East (EAME) Logistics Application Engineering Department.
You will, with minimal supervision, be required to determine and provide warehouse engineering solutions to support Best Practice logistics processes.
The Role:
Working with internal process partners to determine existing and future requirements for Warehouse buildings, machinery and equipment in the region
Provide the Subject Matter Expertise to assist in the specification and acquisition of suitable buildings, machinery and equipment ensuring adherence to regulatory, corporate and insurance requirements
Develop storage concept types to determine warehouse space requirements
Complete design and development of new warehouse processes and optimise existing processes; design and development of office and warehouse infrastructure; and design of Machinery and equipment for existing and future facilities
Provide project management including capital and expense management, working with local authorities and Corporate Insurers (FM Global)
Provide technical support to existing facilities
Provide mentoring; training and guidance for junior engineers
The position requires mobility, the working of unusual hours and extensive travel
(estimated travel required; >25% <=50%)
Requirements:
Educated to Degree level in an Engineering discipline (preferably Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil) and/or have suitable experience and proven track record in an Engineering field
Possess strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills and show the ability to be self-motivated
Have a working knowledge of the Logistics sector, purchase contracts and a good commercial sense
English language skills are required; French, Dutch and German language skills are desirable and other language skills would be an advantage
