Logistics Manager
A vacancy has arisen within our Supply Chain Department for a Logistics Manager.
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the Companys receiving, storage, dispatch and transport processes working closely with the production, purchasing, and sales departments in coordinating the flow of materials through the Company.
Activities
- Ensure Goods Inwards, Despatch and Stores departments are sufficiently equipped with manpower;
- Responsible for overall management of any external contract warehousing;
- Ensure that labour is allocated most effectively between these areas on a day to day basis liaising with supervision;
- Organise the areas allocated for storage to optimise material flow and space requirements in conjunction with PED;
- Management supervision within the department, working to and ensuring KPIs are set and achieved;
- Agree and manage the departmental budget;
- Initiate improvements in productivity, procedures and equipment to achieve departmental goals;
- Plan for future requirements across all areas of responsibility;
- Working knowledge of import and export legislation;
- Ensure delivery performance is achieved when products are made available by purchasing or production.
