Description

Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) Group Leader

To report to the Customer Service Group (CSG) Support Engineering Manager (SEM).
Be responsible for managing, developing and implementing the Logistic Support Analysis process as required.
Be responsible for the provision of LSA resource and tools to
Projects to enable the tailored LSA activities to be applied.
Note: LSA is based upon Defence Standard 00-60.

Technical Tasks
Early influence to Design for support (LSA 200)
Early assessment of Subcontractor/Supplier ILS capabilities (LSA 200)
Early assessment of Ops and Maintenance functions (LSA 300)
Early input to Maintenance Concept (LSA 300)
Early input to Concept of Use or Concept of Ops (LSA 200)
Leads in developing the Ops & Maint task e.g. Level Of repair Analysis (LORA) and Maintenance Task
Analysis (MTA) (LSA 300)
Major input to Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) (LSA 300)
Major input Support & Test Equipment (S&TE) (LSA 300)
Support to Technical Ops & Maint Documentation and Training solution, (LSA 300)
Support to Proposed Supply Chain & Asset Management solution (LSA 300)
To ensure that all Support related comments are managed, recorded and actioned in a timely manner
To ensure that the Support meet the project standards and requirements
To ensure that the required templates and standards are adhered to
To provide Supportability source data to other Engineering disciplines when required

Managerial Tasks
Support to ILS and Project meetings,.
Manage LSA planning, costing, status monitoring & reporting and budgets,
Manage and control LSA support services.
Liaise with subcontractors & customers on ILS issues.
To suggest or recommend improvements to achieve a more effective delivery
Ensure LSA milestone achievement.
Interface with design team.
To ensure that sufficient resource is identified & available to deliver support programmes
To produce performance metrics for monitoring resource and performance
To provide deliverables on time & to budget
To offer expert guidance and support in managing the LSA strategy.
To lead the development of robust processes and procedures
To manage both Permanent and Subcontract resource
To provide ITT responses, cost estimates and schedules
To present to internal and external audiences as required
To provide inputs to mid term & long term workload plans
To ensure that the correct standards are applied
To maintain and update style guides and templates as required
To provide resource support to other CSG Support Functions when required

Technical Scope:
Manuals: must have a very good understanding of both the generation and production of manuals to the appropriate standards.
Should have a good working knowledge of AECMA/ASD 1000D, 02-40 (Technical Publications); and 00-60 (ILS), and International Standard ISO 9001:2000.
Should be able to develop a Synopsis and use defined style guides.
Tools: have an excellent working knowledge of MS Word and Framemaker as authoring tools, including the use of templates, creation PDF files from Word documents.
ASD 1000D.
Use ASD Simplified English Writing rules (ASD SE Dictionary Part 1) to the Oxford dictionary

Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential :
Degree, Diploma or BTEC in Tech authoring or a Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Is trained, qualified and experienced in the application of LSA.
Or be an experience Armed Forces LSA practitioner with equivalent experience.

Desirable:
Be confident & experienced to make work related decisions independently. Comprehensive understanding and ability to interpret and action LSA standards, methodologies and terminology as required.

Previous Experience
Essential:
The ability to liaise and deal with internal and external customers confidently. A proven track record of managing multiple tasks and the ability to work autonomously within an effective team environment utilising leadership and arbitration skills.

Desirable:
Ability to adapt quickly and cope with varying workloads. Must be confident and able to work to given deadlines. Must be a team player and should be able to work autonomously.

Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
