General Job Duties:
You will operate within the our clients offices supervising a team of stress engineers in support of their various projects
Essential functions of this position include:
To supervise a project team of engineers, distributing tasks appropriately and ensuring time, cost and quality adherence, as well as effective communication with the team.
Supporting the team through individual progress reviews, providing feedback, recognising & rewarding high performance, managing poor performance and conduct issues.
Identify training and development needs for individuals to ensure current and future skill requirements are met and addressed through coaching, on the job training and recommendations for formal training.
Evaluate, agree and introduce new methods of analysis based on each customer's task requirements.
Provide engineering input to technical, commercial and contract reviews within the company and with customers.
Minimum Requirements:
Team leading experience with proven track record of delivering a quality product within time, budget and quality
Proven experience in aircraft fatigue & damage tolerance stress analysis.
Good reporting skills on project status and progress.
Ability to develop technical solutions, compliant with requirements within agreed programs and timescales.
Use of FEM packages, Patran / Nastran.
MathCad and Hand Calcs experience.
Experience within the fields of fatigue analysis, OLM and fracture mechanics applied to complex structures.
Applicants should have a sound background in Aerospace with a good understanding of metallic structures, load paths, failure modes, typical materials and fastener types etc.
PC skills Word, Excel and Mathcad
BSc Aero or particularly appropriate degree.
Additional Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of modern military/civil aircraft structural qualification an advantage.
nCode, Neuber analysis.
Previous experience operating as a Team Leader / supervisory level.
Mature people management skills
Decision making and planning Skills.
Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers within an international environment.
Previously held delegated Approval Signatory would be beneficial.
