This role is responsible for producing Mechanical engineering designs, data and documentation for new / customer application products and components in accordance with the customer order and other companys programmes, budgets and schedules and to work with other Company departments as appropriate to ensure full process capability. You will be expected to produce creative and innovative designs that are fully documented and meet the Companys expectations and quality standards.
The role also includes participating in regular design review meetings for projects and assignments and ensure these are documented appropriately using the Companys QSi system, technical support evaluation and testing of designs, prototypes and products, provide engineering technical support to co-workers and to manufacturing, test, aftermarket, quality, materials and supply, etc. Youll maintain technical knowledge and expertise through on-going training and continuous professional development.
All applicants should preferably have engineering degree (BEng/BSc) or equivalent in a relevant subject with NVQ4 desirable but consideration will be given to minimum BTech HNC or equivalent with relevant experience with NVQ3 desirable. Alternatively applicants with membership of a recognised professional technical institution or equiv. in an appropriate discipline, acquired through career appraisal or other recognised assessed route will also be considered. You should also have demonstrable experience in a relevant technical position, pref. with at least some time spent in a power generation related design environment in an appropriate discipline coupled with good PC skills with exp. of PC or Workstation drafting package such as AutoCAD or Pro-Engineer and the ability to work on own initiative essential with good problem solving skills with experience of communicating at all levels internally and externally.
