Description
LEAD DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - Working with the EMS diesel division of a leading global automotive company you will lead the design, development and validation of a new generation product through vision of customer and company requirements.
TASKS: Drive development & design changes that assure the program meets cost, DFM, performance and timing goals. Develop new validation & development test procedures. Apply ICIM methods using DOE's, 6 Sigma, Green Y and other statistical tools to achieve product robustness. Participate in Program Project reviews and design reviews. Facilitate fast and accurate two-way communication with design and process engineers to assure robust design and flawless launch objectives.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Educated to degree level (min 2:1 in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering) with experience in automotive component engineering design and development. (Must understand and apply physics to the design and development of product) Excellent communication skills are essential with the ability to communicate via reports, memos and presentations. DOE and statistical analysis knowledge is a plus. Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
