Our clients joint venture company operates several landfill design & build framework contracts across the north of England, specifically in Doncaster, Warrington and Durham.

Seeking to recruit two qualified, experienced and motivated Landfill Design Managers to provide technical leadership, programme management and business development for their joint venture company.

There will be scope for career development in the broad area of waste management business.

Job description:

The successful candidate will

• Provide technical leadership to design staff in the design of landfill systems.
• Take responsibility for the professional and technical development of their team members.
• Maintain and refine project delivery systems to ensure the efficient delivery of design and construction work.
• Ensure work is delivered to the highest standards, in terms of quality, environment and safety.
• Manage and build client relationships at the project, programme and strategic levels.
• Work closely, productively and enthusiastically with our contractor partners for the benefit of our clients.

Candidate specification:

The successful candidate will:

• Be an experienced civil or geotechnical engineer working in a relevant field
• Be a Chartered Engineer, member of a professional body e.g. MICE, CIWM, CIWEM
• Have a detailed understanding of the waste management industry gained through direct experience
• Have a detailed understanding of the regulatory framework governing the landfill industry
• Be able to demonstrate the proven ability to manage a team
• Have strong client relationship management skills
