Description
Laboratory Technician
Ellesmere Port
Business:
The manufacture of mineral insulating oil (intended for transformers and switchgear).
Experience:
Preferably having worked in the Chemical & Oil manufacturing industry.
Qualifications:
BTEC qualification in Chemistry or related science
Key Duties:
•The quality control of manufactured product using conventional laboratory techniques including Gas Chromatography, Infra-red spectrometry, Karl Fischer analysis and other physical, chemical and electrical testing.
•Quality Assurance testing prior to release of product to customer site.
•Data entry into laboratory computer system and generation of quality documentation.
•Routine calibration checks on laboratory testing equipment.
•Controlling oil sample retention & disposal.
•Controlling customer service samples. Including shuttle of samples to other laboratories. Note: A drivers licence is required.
•Plant monitoring.
•Preparation of chemical solutions.
•Involvement in Method development & Risk assessments.
•Environmental monitoring checks.
•Assist SHE manager with Health, Safety and Environmental audits.
