Our client is an International Engineering design consultancy with particular specialisation in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions.
Our client offers a full range of advisory and design services. They are looking for a JUNIOR PROCESS ENGINEER to join their team based in Abu Dhabi. The team delivers deliver all treatment process design aspects of water and wastewater projects. The role requires occasional travelling within the Middle East region (Dubai/ Qatar/ Bahrain/ Oman and Saudi Arabia).
The roles & responsibilities may include:
•Process selection on the basis of extensive working knowledge of all applicable treatment technologies in the industry including activated sludge, extended aeration, MBR, MBBR, IFAS, sludge treatment and tertiary treatment.
•Prepare own discipline outline and detail design.
•Prepare P&IDs, process performance criteria, mass/balance and hydraulic calculations.
•Preparing design calculations, drawings and schedules on assigned projects.
•Offer technical advice to the design and supervision team
•Advice/assist other disciplines in the preparation of design and interfacing.
•Prepare/assist with the preparation of scheme evaluations, design statements, tender documents and design reports.
•Carryout site surveys.
•Maintain a good understanding of the industry standards and Local authority Standards.
•Prepare Process design commissioning documents.
•To prepare and review design in relation to Treatment Works
•Audit submissions in terms of quality and conformance to the requirements of the design briefs
•Assist in the preparation of Bid Financial proposals in conjunction with the commercial department.
•Preparation of cycle reports as required by the water function.
•Assist in the preparation and issue of invoices on schedule and in accordance with the work progress.
•Liaise with construction supervision personnel and advise on design issues
•Liaise with planning Authorities and the Land Department in relation to the development, operation and commissioning of plants (e.g. STP, WTP)
•Assist in the business development by initiating new work and preparing design briefs for Clients (as required)
•Contribute towards updating the Design Manual.
•Implement quality system procedures
•Participate in the divisional meetings and contribute with regular feedback/presentations to colleagues regarding the latest developments in the treatment division.
•Assist in assessing the training and development needs of staff.
Qualifications:
•Minimum requirement B.Sc Civil/Chemical Engineering or other related disciplines from an accredited University
•Competent with Microsoft Word; Excel and Microsoft Project, etc
•Up to 5 years experience in Civil and Public Health Engineering in the disciplines of water and wastewater treatment works.
•To have an appreciation on international water quality standards pertaining to Water/Sewage Treatment works facilities.
•Experience in projects involving government departments; public and private organizations
•Experience in Gulf Region projects of similar nature (desired)
•Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage.
•Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
•Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
•Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills.
•Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach.
•Good attention to detail coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives.
