Description
A world-renowned organisation, currently the Prime Support Contractor to the Royal Navy, providing comprehensive through-life support for submarines, surface ships and equipment, requires a Jetty Co-Ordinator.
Key Accountabilities and responsibilities
The Waterfront Operations Co-ordinators are accountable to the Jetties Facility Manager, working within an integrated Waterfront Operations Team.
In general:
These positions amalgamate the responsibilities of previously separate functions into consolidated specialists roles aimed at improving and delivering a more flexible, dynamic, multi-tasking, and multi-skilled capability across the department.
Specifically the duties will include but are not restricted to:
Organisation, co-ordination, prioritisation and execution of Waterfront Craneage & Berthing programmes.
Efficient co-ordination and allocation of manpower resources to facilitate craneage and berthing activities.
Preparation of robust and coherent berth allocation, optimised to vessel requirements, and facility / support infrastructure capability and availability (including scheduling approval, and release of utilities and services for preventative maintenance.
Proactive management and control of work, contractors and activities within the Southern Berths and Finger Jetty, including manning and operation of Facility Control Offices. This includes day to day assistance ensuring activities being conducted are fully compliant with Nuclear and conventional Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
Training and qualification as a Berthing Officer, initially on surface and minor war vessels, with the possibility to extend qualification to Nuclear Powered Warships, and attainment of Nuclear SQEP qualifications as appropriate.
Supporting the Team Leader to deliver and achieve business requirements including the production of risk assessments and method statements, and active monitoring of compliance.
Maintenance, review and completion of departmental administrative records, including databases, training records, service delivery and performance statistics, operating plans, procedures and supporting documentation.
Assist with investigation, prosecution, solutioneering and closure of Nuclear Events, near misses, accident investigation and other corrective and preventative actions as directed by the Facility Manager.
Participation in duty rosters in support of departmental and vessel programmes as required.
Education & Qualifications:
Minimum:
A formal qualification and background in Business Administration, Project Management, Safety, Naval, Engineering or other suitable discipline is preferred.
Experience:
Essential
Operational experience in any combination of the above disciplines, with a demonstrable track record of delivering results.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel & Outlook.
Ideal
Nuclear Qualification (e.g. NIC, NSSJ)
Seamanship Qualifications.
