Role:
Responsible for mechanical or electrical services design projects from inception to completion in a range of sectors including, commercial, industrial, defence, Home Office, health, education, housing and Local Authorities, this will involve; the production of design drawings, calculations and specificications from concept stage to contract completion, working to agreed budgets taking into account client specific requirements. Ensuring design's comply with all current statutory regulation's/BS's/HTM's/HDM's/CIBSE Guides, IEE Regulations etc.
The position includes report writing, estimating, undertaking condition and dilapidation surveys on new and old buildings, site inspections, site meetings, project management, CDM duties and witnessing of testing and commissioning,
The role requires attendance at client meetings, site surveys, liaising with and/or co-ordinating with other disciplines, and producing a detailed design and specification to established standards within the agreed programme period
QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance file.
Up-keep of Quality Plan.
Related correspondence / filing is kept up to date.
Productions of project documentation (ensuring compliance with Quality Plan).
Drawings reflect requirements of design and checked in accordance with Design Basis Statement.
Completing Contractor Assessment after project completion
Key Competencies / Skills:
Computer literate with knowledge of Word,
Specification Expert, Excel and IES. Knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety regulations an advantage.
Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer or working towards Member of an appropriate Institution.
