International Sales Manager
Reporting directly to the Head of International Business Development, this person will be responsible for conducting successful sales campaigns with a number of international prospects in the field of military satellite communications services. The Sales Manager will be responsible first and foremost, for the generation of new business sales revenue, but also for the overall development and growth of the company s profile and reputation both nationally an internationally.

The Sales Manager will be responsible first and foremost, for the generation of new business sales revenue, but also for the overall development and growth of the company s profile and reputation both nationally an internationally.
The Sales Manager will be set a number of annual (and longer term) Revenue and profit targets. These targets will be both personal and group oriented across the entire Sales and Business development team. The Sales Manager will be given full responsibility for a small number of key accounts and be expected to support other accounts and members of the team on an ad hoc basis as required.
Actively pursue new business and open new accounts with customers. Write and manage win strategies and manage the preparation of proposals (in response to customer requirements or unsolicited) with the assistance of technical and commercial support as required.
The Sales Manager will be liasing directly with customers in other national governments and must therefore be comfortable in a defence environment. A military service background is not essential for this role.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for gathering and interpreting customer technical, programmatic and commercial requirements and aligning them with the specifics of the Corporate offer. The succesful candidate will be required to make presentations to customers on a regular basis.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing prospects through the entire management process from identification, to capture and to handover to product management teams within PSC and PSL. Must also liase with other divisions and/or the UK MOD when joint marketing is required for particular prospects.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for providing updates to the PSC marketing and business plan as prospects are developed.
The Sales Manager will support exhibitions and shows as required to target specific customer bases and nations.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential:
Proven (and demonstrable) track record in non-uk sales.
Market sectors should cover Satellites, communications services or defence and government sales. Ideally in all three.
Degree qualified (technical type degree preferred, sales and marketing acceptable)
Excellent communication skills - report writing, presentations and proposals
Driving license
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages, especially Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
Language skills would be advantageous but not essential (French and German most useful)
Ability to travel (Europe, North America, RoW)
Desirable:
Time management, strategic thinking, highly self-motivated.
Must be able to work in a team as well as on own. You will be working with significant autonomy and decision-making capabilities.
Previous Experience
Essential:
Role in a sales team or a business development organisation. Proven ability to work with government or institutional clients.
Ability to manage a customer relationship from start to finish and to capture the business.
Candidates should be familiar with the workings and constraints of a telecommunications environment, which could be either in satellite communications (preferably Fixed Satellite Services) or other communications company.
Candidates should have proven experience in an industrial sales environment, preferably with military/governmental customers. Candidates must understand the fundamental differences between selling equipment and selling services, which is the main focus.
Desirable:
Candidate should not necessarily have specific military experience (ex-forces), although this would be a benefit if all the other criteria are satisfied.
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
