Purpose of Job:
Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer to work within existing Building Services team in Manchester design office. Applicants would ideally be degree qualified and have attained or be working towards chartered engineer status and should be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in a similar role.
Intermediate Electrical Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer, Manchester
Purpose of Job:
Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer to work within existing Building Services team in Manchester design office. Applicants would ideally be degree qualified and have attained or be working towards chartered engineer status and should be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in a similar role.
This design office is currently working on a variety of projects many of which incorporate renewable energy technologies, including:
+A large office and hotel scheme with a project value of approximately £70 million.
+A residential tower block in the Docklands containing in excess of 500 high specification apartments.
+A variety of office fit outs and new build schemes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties relating to our business including:
+Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to electrical installations.
+Undertake design calculations relevant to the design of electrical installations within major building projects.
+Design electrical installations including the production of design drawings, diagrams and schematics along with project specifications and schedules.
+Design electrical installations to meet all existing, relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards.
+Design electrical installations to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon requirements.
+Work as part of a team to meet project brief and programme requirements.
Training Programme requirements:
+Commit to goals and objectives of career development programme including attendance of in-house and external technical and non-technical training.
+Commit to achieving or maintaining Chartered Engineer status through relevant professional institution.
+Support the same for other members of the engineering team, including mentoring.
Qualifications:
BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc in relevant engineering subject, e.g. Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Good A level or Higher or HND results, prior to attending university.
Demonstratable project management skills.
Software skills including: Hevacomp/Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Barbour Index, Specification Expert, Microsoft Office.
Experience:
Experience gained though working in a UK Building Services design office. A minimum of three years post graduate experience would be expected for this position.
