Integration and Validation Engineer
To ensure that all aspects of a project development are integrated in a timely and efficient manner and to generate solutions that validate that all product requirements are met
In conjunction with the Test and Integration Manager, ensure that the design of all Networks products are appropriately designed for testing and manufacture
Assist the Test and Integration Manager in ensuring that the architecture of Network products allows systematic and efficient integration
Identify opportunities to reuse and recycle hardware, firmware and software modules that has been developed elsewhere within the company and Networks and to devise a suitable integration and testing plan for those modules
Working with the Test and Integration Manager, the wider team and Customer Support Teams to define and implement the detailed test plan for Networks products
Working with external vendors to identify equipment which facilitates testing and improves coverage
Working with internal and external resource providers, including Corporate branch in India, to scope out, support and validate test development and execution
Working with Project team of various sizes and disciplines. Expected to be knowledgeable of and work closely with Teams responsible for hardware, custom logic and software
Working on multiple projects
Qualifications/Experience
Essential
HND/Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Technology discipline, or equivalent experience, preferred
Knowledge of Electronics and a detailed knowledge of C programming language in an embedded environment
Computer literate in current packages e.g. Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent problem solving skills and analysis
Experience of Real Time Applications and Operating Systems.
Excellent integration skills with multiple parties' software and hardware
Integration and validation experience within the Consumer Electronics/Design for Manufacture industry.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills.
Desirable
STB Technologies DVS, MPEG, PVR/DVR, HD-TV.
Experience with hardware- and computer-aided testing tools such as Spirent SmartBits or Ixia.
Experience with the application of automated source code analysis tools and the use of test management software.
