Installation / Commissioning Engineer
£20-£30K depending on experience
Covering UK & Europe (must be willing to travel & stay away, 1-2 weeks at any one time).
My client specialises in the design and delivery of fully automated Laser Guided Vehicles, supplying various automated and manufacturing facilities through the world. Following a significant increase in orders, they are looking to recruit an additional engineer to join their implementation / installation team.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will undertake training in relation to the design, installation and commissioning of high technology systems.
They will support the Project Manager in all aspects of system delivery including pre-installation works, testing and implementation of all software, mechanical, electrical and computing equipment aspects of the project, and will provide accurate reporting.
They will take responsibility for the receipt of equipment on site, supervising sub-contractors and commissioning equipment.
They will help design and perform test schedules to fully test system components. Writing concise and coherent technical reports is a job requirement.
They may be involved in training the customers personnel in the use of the system.
Taking part in acceptance tests with the customers is required as is providing service or maintenance support after the project is completed.
The main office is in the Midlands, although the successful candidate should expect to travel widely within UK, sometimes in Europe and occasionally to USA.
Applicants should hold a vocational qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering and have relevant experience of working with automated systems.
Applicants should have experience of installation and fault-finding of equipment systems in complex industrial or manufacturing environments. They should have proven technical competence particularly in the use of information technology. Experience of word processing, spreadsheets, Access / SQL Databases and AutoCAD is also desirable.
Languages: The ability to speak a foreign language would also be highly advantageous.
