Description

Candidate will undertake the inspection of the DTT Civil Works assets to meet the cyclical inspection requirements and provide support to the Assessment teams in their review of the assets.

Accountable to the Inspection Manager for Deep Tube Tunnels (DTT)

Responsibilities:

-Carry out cyclical Inspections to the required Standards including collation and reporting.
-Responsible for the provision of data for entry onto the Asset Register.
-Liaise with the Assessment teams to ensure inspections address the concerns relating to the particular assets.
-Provide support to the Assessment teams in undertaking Inspections for Assessment.
-Undertake the Deep Tube Tunnels Inspections to ensure deliverables are produced to programme and within budget. Responsible for the quality of the work produced and the achievement of best practice and the cross-fertilisation between delivery teams.


Requirements:

.ICE Engineering Technician and/ or Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works or aiming for registration with relevant experience in the inspection and assessment of underground structures.
.Knowledge and experience of the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry and associated rules and regulations essential.
.Appropriate health and safety training certificates.
.Self motivated with the ability to prioritise workload.
.Team player with strong inter-personnel skills.
.Good computer skills

They must be aware of his/her contribution, including the requirement to monitor safety performance and compliance with the systems established to assist in maintaining high safety standards.

The job holder must be familiar with the safety legislation that is relevant to his/her post and comply with the necessary statutory requirements. These will include the Health & Safety at Work Act, Fire Precautions Act 1971 and associated regulations. Ensuring that the services provided in their area are in compliance with all relevant safety and legal requirements.
