Our Client is a World class design, developer and manufacturer of leading edge, innovative chassis structural and suspension products, modules and systems for the global automotive industry. They are looking to recruit an Improvement Engineer, The Chosen Improvement Engineer will be responsible for improvement Projects and their main purpose will be to achieve continuous improvement in the efficiency of manufacturing operations and assist in the smooth introduction of cost-down and efficiency improvements
The Improvement Engineer key tasks & responsibilities will be as follows
Support manufacturing lines to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets
Design, manufacture and commission fixture improvements
Support operator TPM and multi-skilled maintenance activities relating to fixtures and tooling
Drive specifically identified "cost-down" activities
Carry out productivity improvement studies & kaizen activities
Identify robust counter measures to customer and internal concerns
The chosen Improvement Engineer will have undertaken a four years apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering and be educated to HNC level in Mechanical or Production Engineering. The Improvement Engineer will be able to understand and be able to apply modern manufacturing techniques and have knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes and press working. Finally the Improvement Engineer will have the ability to develop prototype tooling and fixtures utilising a range of tool room facilities
