With a wide range of services, their clients come from many industries and include over 30% of the FTSE 100. Due to their current success, they are now looking to recruit an IT Technical Support Engineer.
IT Technical Support Engineer 1st/2nd Line Support
Central London
£22,000 - £24,000
As an IT Technical Support Engineer your role will be to provide 2nd line support for shared customers and in the near future, to provide 1st line support for managed hosting services. This will involve tracking, prioritising and processing customer issues raised by the Help Desk or Sales Support (and soon clients).
Your responsibilities will include:
- managing the technical hosting request tracker queue, ensuring customer problems are responded to
- escalating repeat problems to 3rd line support
- contacting managed server clients to assist with diagnostics and general problems
- setting up back up schedules, server monitoring, webspace, email and database services
- providing advice, guidance and training to Junior team members
To succeed as an IT Technical Support Engineer you must have basic experience of technical support in Linux and Windows environments, and an understanding of the ISP industry. You will also need experience of troubleshooting communications and networks including firewalls, and knowledge of Windows products, such as Excel and Word.
With your ability to present problems and solutions in user-friendly language, you will also need strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with great attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
