Description
Our client, a global telecoms company, requires a IT Support Operative to join an existing team working on a large government contract. The successful
applicant will have the following skills and experience: A good understanding of Windows Server and desktop operating systems, in particular Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP. ISA2004 management and configuration experience. ADSL and broadband knowledge. Good working knowledge of UNIX / Solaris. Experience of working in a support environment and dealing with customers. Good basic knowledge of networking to include switches routers and firewalls. Good knowledge of internet technologies. Familiarity with incident management tools and remote server monitoring techniques / products. Desirable but not essential skills include: Past experience of Finjan, Vital Security, or Webwasher. Java / VB scripting skills. Blackberry support experience. This is a support role and as such may require occasion out of hours work as necessary. The location of the role is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and is for 12 months. Please send CV in the first instance.
